SAFE SPACE POLICY

We are committed to making sure that everyone that attends the Mosswood Meltdown, should feel safe during the event. We will help maintain this by not tolerating harmful behaviors, which include but are not limited to non-consensual touching or verbal harassment. If someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, no matter how minor it may seem, please let us know. You can report it to your nearest member of our security staff or any Meltdown staff member. We are committed to working with you to help you feel safe at our event.

Our staff at Mosswood Meltdown are committed to reducing harassment of any kind, including but not limited to: race, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, gender presentation, sexual orientation, age, body size, disability, appearance, religion, citizenship, pregnancy. This means if you report harassment to a staff member or member of security, they will give you options including but not limited to keeping an eye on the person who caused harm in the crowd to ensure they don’t do it again, asking that person to leave that stage/band to give you some space, or ejecting the person from the event. We recognize we can neither control for nor prevent every incident of harm so instead, our priority is to restore safety as best we can.

Harassment includes but is not limited to stalking, verbal or physical intimidation, offensive verbal comments, physical assault and/or battery, harassing or non-consensual photography or recording, bathroom policing, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome physical attention.

We are all here for the same reason, and, really, if you are going to be an asshole, you’re ruining the fun for everyone.

ACCESSIBILITY

The Meltdown is excited to provide reasonable accommodations to make our events accessible for all attendees and participants!  We want everyone to enjoy the event! This page will be updated with additional accessibility information as it becomes available. Please check back.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ACCESSIBILITY OF MOSSWOOD PARK AND THE MELTDOWN?

Mosswood Park is a large outdoor venue with natural terrain. Access to all vendors and booths at the Meltdown may require covering large distances over grassy, uneven, and sometimes muddy ground.

Accessible portable toilet facilities are provided.

The accessible viewing area is available to attendees with disabilities, plus one adult companion and/or minor children, as applicable. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.   The viewing area is accessible for people with mobility disabilities, including accessible pathways connected from the ADA entrance to the viewing area and accessible bathrooms.  For more information about accessible pathways, please inquire at the Access Booth.

WHERE IS THE ACCESS BOOTH LOCATED?

An Access Booth will be conveniently located at the ADA entrance to the Meltdown. The ADA entrance will be on the Broadway side of the park, near the bus stop.  The Access Booth is available to support and address the needs of all attendees with accessibility needs.

  • Get your ADA wristband.
  • Have your ADA questions answered.
  • Learn about all accessibility services.

HOW DO I REQUEST AN ADA WRISTBAND?

An ADA Wristband will provide attendees with a disability access to designated seating and other accessibility resources.  All designated accessible seating is based on capacity and provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To request an ADA Wristband, please come to the Access Booth on the day of the event.

IS THERE AN OPTION FOR MY PERSONAL ATTENDANT TO ACCOMPANY ME?

Attendees with disabilities who require the assistance of an attendant during the event can be accompanied by a companion.  Being an ADA personal attendant or companion does not grant access to the event itself, however, companions will be able to accompany attendees with disabilities in ADA accessible areas.  Please come together to the ADA entrance and Access Booth.  Companions or personal attendants will not be able to use the ADA entrance alone.

CAN I BRING MY SERVICE ANIMAL? EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMAL?

Service animals are permitted throughout the festival.

  • Pets are not allowed and will be turned away.
  • Only legitimate service animals that are properly trained, wearing a service animal vest or harness, and under the proper care of their owners will be provided with the appropriate credentials.
  • Service animals must always remain by the handler’s side and must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered.
    • If these devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal or other effective controls.
  • Service animals must be housebroken and should use the designated relief area.
  • Anyone bringing an animal will be responsible for and liable for any damage or injury caused by the animal.
